Garuda was founded by Mrs Erna Decroix in 1978.
In the early years we sold typical oriental art, coming from countries such as China, Thailand, Indonesia. This is where the name 'Garuda' arose. It's the name of a sacred bird. Later the import expanded to other countries as Mexico, Italy, Spain, Philippines, ...
In 1990 the son of Erna, Geert Vanhecke, took over the company together with his wife Ingrid Mestdagh. The company took a new evolution and the family bussiness grows further. The new brand ‘Ggifts’ is born and ensures a qualitative and affordable product with good after-sales service. More than 70% of all Ggifts products have been created or modified by our own design team.
Later in 2014 and 2019 the 2 daughters Valentine and Laurence also joined the company. And created the new brand 'L'envie de Valentine'. Creative candles and must have trends.
